High-profile prostitution racket busted, 22 pimps held

Police booked 11 cases against 22 arrested traffickers and pimps, after rescuing 16 sex workers, busting a high-profile prostitution racket which was being run under the guise of beauty parlours and massage centres.

Two of the pimps were women, the police said. Several beauty parlours and massage centres were raided on Monday and Tuesday, to rescue 16 sex workers, including two junior artists working in TV serials and films, the police said. Raids were conducted at Begumpet, Bowenpally, Punjagutta, S R Nagar, Marredpally, Khairatabad and Banjara Hills areas where brothels were being run, with trafficked sex workers from parts of Andhra Pradesh and across the country, the police said.
