Heavy Rains To Lash Telugu States For 2 More Days

Hyderabad: Heavy rain lashed city on Monday and recorded highest amount of rainfall in the season. The city received 41.8mm rainfall on Monday, as the heavy showers started around 2pm and continued overnight.

Due to the depression and low pressure in the south west region of Bay of Bengal and in the adjoining Odisha and Tamil Nadu, the down pouring continues for the next 48 hours according to the Indian Meteorological Department. Heavy rainfall witnessed in Khammam, Kothagudem, Medak and Palwancha.

On the other hand, heavy rains triggered floods in Vizianagaram and Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh as there is a heavy downpour in Odisha. The IMD Vishakapatnam has alerted people and fisherman in the city to stay away from the beach as there is high rise in the tides and arranged safety measures at the beach.

Krishna and Prakasam districts in the state received maximum rainfall on Monday while districts like East Godavari received low rainfall.
