Guntur TDP Leader Attempts To Molest Mentally Challenged Woman 

Guntur: Instead of providing protection and safe environment to women, TDP leader Gollamudi Lakhsmayya, has allegedly molested a woman who is mute as well as has mentally challenged.

The incident happened on Sunday night at Tubadu Village in Nadendla Mandal in Guntur.

At the time of assault, the 30-year-old victim along with her grandmother, a cancer patient were sleeping outside in the verandah. The two were alone, as her brother and sister-in-law working as labourers had gone out to another village for work. During this period, the TDP leader, came in to their house and attempted sexual assault on the women, but the girl couldn’t raise an alarm due to her physical condition. But, the incident was observed by their neighbour, who raised an alarm. Following this, the TDP leader fled the place.

The next day, people approached police station and lodged a complaint against the TDP leader. SI Chandrasekhar summoned concerned officials, who record the victim's statement. However, the villagers and their family suspect that a foul play could happen as the leader is from the ruling party.

The victim had been residing at her brother’s place along with grandmother, after her father got married following the death of her mother.
