Engineering student kills self over marks

Ongole (AP): A 21-year-old engineering student allegedly committed suicide on Saturday by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her house, police said.

The incident occurred at Kothapalem village of Tallur mandal in Prakasam district.

The victim identified as Katam Anusha was a 4th year engineering student at a private college, Darsi circle inspector K Raghavendra said.

Prima facie, Anusha was depressed over differences with college teachers over her examination marks, the officer said.

A case has been registered in this connection and investigations are underway, he added.
