Hyderabad: A registered medical practitioner (RMP) was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly outraging the modesty of a woman patient in Malkajgiri area here.

Sadiq (40), the accused, runs a clinic at Patel Nagar and the woman had visited him along with her husband for stomach pain on Monday, police said.

“While the husband was outside, Sadiq, on the pretext of check-up, took her to another room and touched her inappropriately,” said inspector Janaki Reddy of Malkajgiri police station.

The woman’s husband lodged a complaint under section 354 of IPC (outraging woman’s modesty). Sadiq was arrested on Tuesday, the inspector added.
