Discoms to levy Rs 1137 cr surcharge on power bills

Power distribution companies (Discoms) on Monday submitted proposals for Fuel surcharge Adjustment (FSA) charges for the final third quarter to AP Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC).

The companies have proposed Rs 1137 crore of surcharge for the power consumed in the months of January, February and March in 2012-13. They requested the ERC to allow them to charge Re 1/- per unit additionally for the power consumed in the first three months.
