Buried Newborn Pulled Out Live From Grave

Barwani (MP): In a bizarre incident, a newborn baby was pulled out live on Tuesday after being buried in a graveyard. The infant was found buried in the ground after a group of children heard baby's wail and raised an alarm. A couple rushed to the burial ground at Ghus village and removed mud to pull out the infant who was alive.

The 32-year-old Sher Singh expressed shock upon hearing baby's wail coming out from a small mound. His wife Sunita also accompanied him to the place.

"We started removing the mud with our hands and found a baby boy wailing inside. We informed the Ojhar police about the incident," said Singh.

The boy has been admitted at a hospital and the district hospital's pediatrician, Dr Roop Singh Bhadale, who is treating the child, said the boy appears to be around 10-day-old. The doctor said the baby has been bitten by insects and is suffering from flu and cold, but is out of danger.

ASP TS Baghel said they are checking the records of maternity hospitals to trace the baby's parents. The couple, who has three daughters, feel the baby is sent by God and have expressed their desire to adopt him.
