Beti Bachao Beti Padhao A Failure In Assam: Know More

The BJP which was the champion of campaign in Beti Bachao Beti Padhao has relegated itself by terming Students of Assam Womens University (AWU) to a ‘technical institute’. The reason cited by BJP to dub it as a technical institute is due to lack of a permanent Vice Chancellor.

Subsequently, the students are up in arms protesting against the BJP government since fortnight. Notably, this is the only women’s university in the entire North East region.

Protest against the BJP has gathered steam and is trending on Twitter as #SaveAssamWomenUniversity.
