Ayyappa Society demolitions continue, MLA held

The demolition of illegal constructions at Ayyappa Society near Madhapur led to tension. Armed with official orders, the authorities went ahead with the demolitions for the seond day running.

The action follows Telangana CM KCR's directive to demolish illegal structures. Serilingampally MLA Arikepudi Gandhi tried to obstruct the demolitions, but was taken into custody.

He alleged that the officials were being selective in their demolitions. They were leaving the houses belonging to TRS leaders, while demolishing other houses. He demanded that the illegal houses to be regularised.

It may be recalled that Ayyappa Society Colony is one of the colonies that was constructed on the Gurukul Trust lands.
