AP govt issues GO for land acquisition
Despite mounting opposition to the TDP government’s high-handed land-pooling and despite the court snubs, the Government has issued an ordinance on Thursday to forcibly acquire lands from the farmers.
The TDP government’s move has come after the CRDA act failed to get adequate lands. The GO No 166 issued on Thursday exempts the Chapters 2 and 3 of the Land Acquisition Act 2013, which seek to protect the lands where two or three crops are sown.
The land acquisition would start from Friday and the collectors have been given full powers to acquire lands. The ordinance also enables the government to acquire the lands of those who managed to get court orders in their favour.
The Govt plans to acquire 33000 acres of land and has so far secured 10000 acres through land-pooling. The GO will enable the government to forcibly take away the lands.
