144 Section Imposed At Khammam Mirchi Yard 

Khammam: As the mirchi price dipped below the expected level, the farmers are restive in Khammam district. On Saturday, opposition leaders staged dharna near Khammam Mirchi Yard to express solidarity with the agitating farmers.

The police arrested BJP's Kisan Morcha president Goli Madhusudan Reddy on Saturday morning while he was on his way to support the farmers agitation. Even congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy was also prevented from entering into the mirchi yard.

The Khammam commissionerate imposed Section 144 at the mirchi market in view of the tense situation.

The district collector directed the police to take action against the political interference in the market yard purchases. Police have cordoned off the mirchi yard and are inspecting all the vehicles entering into the town.
