Check Out How MS Dhoni And Shivam Dube Failed Against Punjab Kings

After a 54-run loss to PBKS at the Brabourne Stadium, CSK suffered their third consecutive loss, their worst start to an IPL season. Chennai was dismissed to 36/5 in the eighth over while chasing 181.

With the former playing a brilliant counter-attacking knock, Shivam Dube and MS Dhoni stitched a 62-run stand to steady the ship and keep CSK in the game.

Dube blasted 57 off 30 balls, including three sixes and six boundaries, but he was bowled in the 15th over by PBKS leg-spinner Liam Livingstone, who had also starred in the bet on Sunday.

If MS Dhoni had kept rotating his strike, he could have done even better: Gavaskar

Gavaskar noted that even the finest hitters struggle in uphill chases, pointing out that Dhoni could have done better if he had kept the strike moving throughout his partnership with Dube.

After being caught down the leg in Rahul Chahar’s over, Dhoni concluded with 23 off 28 balls after being reeling at 10 off 20 balls. CSK were bowled out for 126 in 18 overs, giving PBKS a comfortable victory.

CSK will have a 5-day break before facing SunRisers Hyderabad at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai in their next match.
