Police High-handedness Against YSRCP MLA

YSR Congress Party leaders - Sakshi Post

Nellore: YSR Congress Party leaders have criticized the local police's manner of dealing the cricket betting case. Speaking at the press conference here, MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy and MLA Kakani Goverdhan Reddy condemned the behaviour of the police in this matter. "It is not fair to allege an opposition MLA," they said.

Even though the High Court banned cockfights, the ruling party MLAs resorted to it in the open, they recalled. "Instead of taking action on the TDP MLAs, the police are unnecessarily harassing Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, who has no links with the cricket betting. It is unfair on part of police to act upon the government's orders," said the leaders.

"What action have you taken on the TDP MLA, who attacked the district collector during ZP elections?" they asked the police. The YSRCP will keep on fighting until justice is delivered, they asserted.

YSRCP MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy said, "The police are misleading the media by giving twisted information. I have been demanding for an Anti Corruption Board (ACB) investigation to end the cricket betting menace. As per the call data of the bookies, various ministers and MLCs have to be questioned. If it is proved that I am involved with any bookies, I will resign within an hour after proving."
