Telangana Police Women Safety Wing's short film demonstrates how women in danger can alert police

 - Sakshi Post

Telangana Police's Women Safety Wing is designed to handle investigations into crimes against women that specifically include the "prevention of trafficking, sexual offences, domestic violence, juvenile delinquency, NRI issues and cyber crimes". The Wing has been carved out from the Women Protection Cell, CID. The fully-equipped department has come out with a short film that demonstrates how women can escape traffickers by making use of the Wing's app.

In the short film, a young woman is conned by an otherwise soft-spoken old woman, who cajoles her into sharing a car ride with her late at night. The woman, out of abundant precaution, dials up 100 and presses number 8 to activate T-Safe service. "A citizen can initiate a ride monitoring ticket through multiple channels, including Dial 100 or downloading the T-Safe app from App Store (IOS and Android). Upon initiation, the T-Safe helpdesk monitors the journey for deviations or non-responsiveness etc," the Wing says.

Sharing the video, IPS officer Shikha Goel wrote, "Watch this captivating short film showcasing the groundbreaking and unprecedented ride-monitoring service launched by the Telangana Police's Women Safety Wing. T-Safe is redefining the perception of safety and innovation. A ride monitoring service by your first and best friend, Telangana Police."
