New Delhi: Launching a broadside against the grand old party, YSRCP MP Vijayasai Reddy said India will soon get rid of the Congress party. Taking part in the debate and discussion on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s address on Monday, Reddy said the people of state will never forgive the Congress party for the division of a united Andhra Pradesh.

“India will soon be a 'Congress-mukt Bharat' and the grand old party will be a grand extinct party. The party will lose its relevance by the 2029 Lok Sabha elections,” Vijayasai Reddy told Parliament.

Taking a jibe at Congress in the Rajya Sabha, the YSRCP member said the grand old party disappeared from the political landscape in the state long ago and it will certainly vanish from the national politics too without a trace.

Making an oblique reference to the INDIA bloc members, Vijayasai said the alliance members seemed to have a trust deficit with the Congress party as is evident from the growing differences within the opposition bloc.

“Congress has not done anything for the development of the country. Rahul Gandhi is set to lose the 2024 general elections regardless of which parliamentary constituency he contests from. It is now clear India grows only when Congress sleeps,” YSRCP MP added.

It may be recalled here that President Droupadi Murmu had addressed the joint sitting of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on January 31, the first day of the Budget Session. Both Houses are discussing the Motion of Thanks to the President’s address.
