​How Much Will Amazon Prime Pay For Mahanati?

Since its theatrical release two days ago, Nag Ashwin's Mahanati is going great guns at the box office. The film has received an incredible response for its content and performance of every actor has been much talked about in Tollywood circles.

Those who are new to the story, Mahanati is the true story of yesteryear actress Savitri who ruled south cinema in the 50s and 60s.

She has acted in more than 300 films and she also happened to be a singer, dancer, produced and directed a few films.

Congratulatory messages have been pouring in for Keerthy Suresh who plays Savitri on screen in Mahanati. Dulquer Salman too has won appreciation for playing the role of Tamil actor Gemini Ganesan.

Telugu audiences who watched the film can't stop going ga ga over the film. After the Savitri biopic, expectations are riding high on the other two biopics—YSR and NTR, which are on the cards.

Mahanati has already crossed the half million mark in overseas box office and expected to do better business over the weekend. Following the film receiving good talk from the audiences, online channels are trying to encash the craze and coming forwward to purchase the rights of the film for a fancy price.

A source in the know tells us that Amazon Prime is eyeing the rights of Mahanati. The same online streaming site has already bought the rights of two big ticket Tollywood films-Rangasthalam, Bharat Ane Nenu. Rumors are rife that as of now talks are on and they are yet to strike a deal.

Mahanati is directed by Nag Ashwin and co-produced by Priyanka Dutt, Aswani Dutt, Swapna Dutt. Apart from Keerthy Suresh, Mahanati also stars Samantha, Vijay Devarekonda, Rajendra Prasad and Mohan Babu in lead roles.
