About 70 persons, including junior artists, filed a complaint at the police station against Telugu TV artist Battula Vijaya Rani, who duped them off Rs 5 crores by collecting the same in the name of chit business.
The artist vacated her Yellareddyguda house in Hyderabad and shifted her entire luggage in a lorry on March 10. The owner of the house told the same to the police, who went there as part of their investigations in the case.
Police officials are saying that they can get the address of Vijayarani, if the address of the transport operator of the lorry in the city is found.
One of the accused in the case, Madhulata, whose son Srinu is working as a driver at Vijayarani, is now in the custody of the police.
All the houses of the family members and close relatives of Vijayarani were locked. Police are suspecting that Rani sent all of them to other places in a preplanned way.
It is found in the police investigations that she has vacated three messes, run by her, located in the areas of Srinagar Colony and Ameerpet.
As per the sources, Vijayarani had been running the chit business for the last one and half years.
