A recent buzz abuzz in National media is Kiran Kumar Reddy’s new political party, which according to the speculations is just on cards. This was also hinted several times by Kiran Reddy close aides. It is also reported that he would announce about the new party after T- bill comes to Assembly. Political observers feel that Kiran Kumar Reddy will announce the new party in support of Samikyandhra.
Kiran Reddy, who became CM overnight in a jackpot, is now desired to project himself a sole champion of Samaikyandhra and the only crusader against Telangana. But, he neither quit his post on the day CWC announced its decision to divide the state, nor called for special assembly session to pass the resolution against Telangana. Of late, he convened a meeting against the Centre’s decision to bifurcate the State and was alone to address the media on Samaikyandhra to project himself a lone fighter for Samaikyandhra.
Who are his prompters and promoters?
According to an English daily, he is backed by influential people not from his community, but the other community – Kamma, a dominant caste from Coastal Andhra.
Sources close to CM told Sakshipost that Lagadapati Rajagopal and Kavuri Samba Siva Rao are helping Kiran Reddy to launch new political party and they are offering funding too. It is also learnt that even the Congress High Command is also helping him, as the party’s prospects in Seemandhra are hit severely.
Old friendships die hard
It throws up no surprise, if Kiran Reddy gets covert support from TDP. From the beginning, TDP has been saving Kiran Reddy from losing his post. TDP never called for a no-confidence motion on Kiran government. Moreover, it did not support the move, whenever other parties moved it. The allegations of YSRCP on their nexus exposed naked many a time. Kiran Reddy struck a deal with Chandrababu and worked together in local body polls too. Both leaders from Chittor district had a larger design to weaken YSR CP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy.
